August 8, 2021 Lei Making Workshop with Dawn Sullivan

This month’s in-person meeting will be a hands-on lei making workshop, where you will learn to make a simple strung lei.

Experienced lei makers will have the option to make a spiral lei.

Materials to bring:

1. 50 – 70 blooms for the single strand lei, 150 – 200 blooms for the spiral lei
2. Non-woven dental floss or dental tape
3. Lei needle or 5″ doll needle (available at JoAnn Fabrics)
4. Scissors

Dawn was a haumana (student) of a traditional Hawaiian hula halau for more than 6 years, where she learned a variety of Hawaiian lei making techniques.
