June 14, 2026 Meeting: Plumeria – the Importance of pH

For June, we will have Jim McKibben presenting on “Plumeria: the Importance of pH“.

Jim McKibben holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and a Master of Science in Biology. He is a founding member of the CSULB Shark Lab and worked at CSULB for 46 years as a shark researcher, Director of Science Technical Services and Director of the Science Learning Center and Mobile Science Museum programs. Jim has been involved in the production of more than 26 television productions on sharks and other marine animals. Additionally, he has authored or co-authored more than 20 scientific publications. Currently, Jim and Pat, his wife of nearly 35 years, are growing approximately 200 Plumeria. Pat fell in love with Plumeria when lived in Hawaii for four and a half years. Jim has been growing Plumeria for more than fifty years – and it all began with a couple of cuttings brough back from Tahiti.
